EMF Magnetic Fields - Laptop Devices
Hello everyone!
My name is Eric and I have been in the IT industry for 11 years now and suffer from EMS where I feel magnetic fields and "energy" so to speak. I have never been diagnosed but symptomatically, deal with inflammatory responses where my frontal cortex is impacted creating an inability to remember in the moment tasks, process information, and maintain a coherent state (sometimes speech). I would say I have mastered (to some degree, although you can only do so much) the art of boundaries and balance.
This is not medical advice and I am not a doctor, but I will share a few go-tos I gravitate towards. One is magnesium citrate and the other is turmeric root extract supplements as these quickly aid in returning me to baseline after an "attack" or onset of symptoms that present.
I will also add that placing my bare feet on the ground (after work) discharges this excess energy buildup and also reduces inflammation naturally! Spending time in nature, at least 20 minutes helps to dissipate and break up the static helping you reset your field.
Furthermore, I have grown to know my limitations and how to work around these things. It has caused me to really look at my diet and address any nutrient deficiencies I may have upon self-analysis. Again, I am not a doctor or nutritionist and would advise you to seek such guidance for ways that may help you! Enough about me already...

I have been doing some settings toggling in the BIOS of some laptops. I WOULD ADVISE DOING YOUR OWN RESEARCH BEFORE DOING WHAT I AM GOING TO SHARE AS THE BIOS IS SENSITIVE AND YOU COULD RISK TOGGLING SOMETHING THAT BREAKS THINGS.
BIOS is a type of firmware used to provide runtime services for operating systems and programs and to perform hardware initialization during the booting process. On a computer using BIOS firmware, the firmware comes pre-installed on the computer's motherboard.
The one I am working with specifically is Dell Pro 14 Ryzen 7 (AI version).
For newer machines, and most others, you can adjust the power output of the magnetic fields these systems produce that will greatly assist in reducing your symptoms (as it has for me).
I will say, distance matters as well (at least 2-3 feet) as the further your body is away from the magnetic fields the better. Obviously you will want to disable any radios such as WiFi and Bluetooth while using but often times, if you are as sensitive as me, this only helps but is not the end all be all. Again, the real issue for me, that I have found, is the exposure to the magnetic fields.
For the model I am working with, below are things I have toggled within the BIOS that greatly helped me. NOTE: if you do not see CPU settings (big field generator - overclocking, etc), you may need to UPDATE or FLASH the BIOS (this was my case).
You can generally get a hold of the latest manufacturers BIOS update version from the manufacturers website, load it onto a freshly formatted USB stick, and flash the BIOS. The option to flash should be in the BIOS itself, if you are unsure, you can boot into the OS and visit the manufacturers website to install this way.
NOTE: This is my hunch and is not based on fact, this is only what reduced my symptoms. I simply suspect this is magnetic field related.
For my Dell Pro 14 Ryzen 7 (AI version)
- In the BIOS Settings, click “Advanced Setup” toggle to ON
- Go to “Performance”
- Untoggle/Disable
- AMD Core Performance Boost - This will keep the computer calm along with their respective power levels.
- Under “Connection”
- Disable Bluetooth
- Enable “Wireless Radio Control” - This will turn off wifi if it detects an ethernet connection and kick it back on when ethernet disconnects.
- Go to “Power”
- Set Thermal Management to
- Cool - this helps with heat dissipation and keeps the CPU from ramping up increasing the magnetic field.
- Set Thermal Management to
- Untoggle/Disable
OS Side
- Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings
- Ensure
ALL settings are set to OFF.
- GPS, Hotspot, etc.
- GPS, Hotspot, etc.
- Ensure
ALL settings are set to OFF.
- Settings > Privacy & Security
- Set location GPS antennas to OFF
- Set location GPS antennas to OFF
I am always learning new things about these crazy computers and my goal is to help keep myself safe and my users as no one has time to be grouchy and irritable!
I sincerely hope this helps someone out there. YOU ARE NOT CRAZY! YOU JUST FEEL YOUR ENVIRONMENT MUCH DEEPER THAN OTHERS DO!
Much love to everyone.
